Reducing Food Waste

We embarked on this journey with the goal of reducing food waste.  Starting at the farm and ending in your home, our freeze-dried fruit snacks help reduce food waste every step of the way.

There is a common misconception that rotting fruit is good for the soil, but nothing could be further from the truth.  Rotting fruit causes greenhouse gas emissions by releasing methane into the atmosphere, a gas over 20 times more potent than carbon pollution from cars.

For fruit and vegetable waste to fertilize the soil, it needs to be composted first; otherwise, it is pure poison.

Being Carbon Neutral

Reducing carbon footprint is one of our biggest challenges. While there aren't perfect solutions, we believe we found a way of keeping our carbon emission low and compensating what we can't eliminate.

In a world where almost everything we buy comes from far away, we ship with your local postal service because it is the lowest carbon footprint option.  But reducing carbon emissions is not enough, and we plant trees to compensate for our CO2 emissions.

Recent studies have suggested that reforestation is one of the best solutions to combat climate change available to us.

Compostable Packaging

We already began switching our snacks pouches to 100% compostable packaging. It has taken longer than we imagined. It will cost more than we anticipated, but we are fully committed to eliminating single-use plastic.

We also keep packaging to a minimum, and everything we send is printed on recycled paper and is recyclable. Even the tape we use will soon be biodegradable!

Finally, we buy our boxes from local manufacturers. While this means we pay a higher price, it also reduces our carbon footprint.
