What's the story behind Diaita Foods?
My name is Tony, founder of Diaita Foods, and this is the heart of our story.
While traveling through Portugal and Spain, I noticed many small farmers were leaving perfectly wholesome, delicious fruit unharvested. At first, I thought something might be wrong with the fruit, but soon realized it wasn’t about quality—it was about opportunity.
That’s when the idea came to me: to bring these incredible fruits to food lovers around the world. By using freeze-drying, we preserve the natural taste and nutrients of the fruit, allowing us to share it in its purest form. And that’s how Diaita Foods was born.
What does Diaita mean?
The name Diaita comes from the ancient Greek word that gave rise to “diet,” but its meaning goes far beyond the modern sense of restricting food intake. In ancient times, Diaita referred to a way of life—a philosophy of living in harmony with nature, maintaining balance in what we eat, how we live, and how we interact with the world around us.
For us, Diaita is about creating a conscious connection between what we consume and how it impacts our health, our community, and our planet. It's a lifestyle of balance, sustainability, and mindful choices.
